Police have released video of an altercation on a SEPTA bus that resulted in the stabbing of a passenger.

About 2 p.m. Friday, the suspect boarded the Route 56 bus on Torresdale Avenue, but was unable to pay the fare and was asked by the bus driver to leave the bus at the next stop.

When the suspect refused to leave, the victim started arguing with him about holding up the bus from continuing on.

The argument became physical and during the altercation, the suspect pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim several times in the head and body.

The suspect then ran away from the scene.

The victim, who is in his 40s, was rushed to Temple University Hospital. He's listed in stable but critical condition, police said.

The suspect remains on the loose.
