Rush Limbaugh Leaves Philly Radio

CBS made the decision to take the popular commentator off the air on WPHT’s “The Big Talker.”

Philadelphia’s top AM talk radio station will no longer air Rush Limbaugh’s show. CBS made the decision to take the popular commentator off the air on WPHT’s (1210) “The Big Talker.” His slot will be replaced with longtime Philadelphia broadcaster Michael Smerconish.

CBS claims the decision has nothing to do with Limbaugh’s recent comments about Georgetown University law student Sandra Fluke. Limbaugh drew outrage after he referred to the contraceptive-rights advocate as a “slut” and a “prostitute.” They also say it has nothing to do with a recent petition to get Limbaugh off the air from MoveOn.org. Instead a marketing director with CBS Radio Philadelphia tells NBC10 that “the decision was made independently and long ago.”

Philly.com reports Limbaugh may move to WKDN-FM (109.6) in Camden though this has not been confirmed by Limbaugh himself.
