Rowan U Students Struck by Drunk Driver: Cops

Police say two Rowan University students are in the hospital after being struck by a drunk driver. They also say another student struck refused medical attention.

Two Rowan University students are in the hospital after being struck by a drunk driver, according to police.

The Courier Post reports the accident occurred on Sunday around 1:45 a.m. along Delsea Drive in Glassboro.

Police say Jaclyn Halm, 22, Julia-Ann Ranuro, 20 and Rebecca Semon, 20 were crossing the street when they were suddenly struck by a car driven by Kelli Hennessey, 51, of Franklinville.

Halm was taken to Cooper University Hospital in critical condition while Ranuro was taken to Underwood-Memorial Hospital, according to the Courier Post. The Post also reports that Sermon refused medical treatment.

Hennessey was arrested on the scene of the crash. She is charged with driving while intoxicated and three counts of aggravated assault with a motor vehicle. The Post reports she was sent to Gloucester County Jail after failing to post $25,000 bail.
