Routine Traffic Stop Turns Deadly

A routine traffic stop turned deadly in West Philadelphia when the driver pulled a gun on officers, police said.

During a traffic stop at 56th and Master Street, the driver jumped out of his vehicle and ran away from two highway patrol officers.

They chased him, caught him and a struggle followed.  That's when the man pulled out a gun.

The officers then shot and killed the man.
 
Police haven't released his identity.
