A car struck and killed a person overnight along a busy area roadway.

The unidentified person was hit along southbound Lincoln Highway (Route 1) near the Knights Inn in Bensalem, Bucks County, Pa. around 12:30 a.m.

The person was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver who hit the pedestrian stopped and alcohol didn't appear to be a factor, according to Bensalem Police.

The southbound lanes of Route 1 remained closed for nearly four hours as police investigated the deadly wreck.
