J-Roll Wedding Still on After Cayman Quake

All-Star shortstop OK after 5.8 earthquake

Pre-wedding jitters happen all the time but Jimmy Rollins literally felt rumbles just days before his wedding.

The Phillies shortstop called the Phillies to say he was OK after feeling the Cayman Islands quake, said the team.

J-Roll was in Grand Cayman preparing for his Saturday wedding when a 5.8 magnitude earthquake hit. The quake was centered about 40 miles from the capital, George Town and lasted only seconds.

The quake didn’t seem to do too much damage to Grand Cayman. No injuries were originally reported and there were no reports of damage to buildings.

The former NL MVP’s wedding to Jahori Smith seemed to still be on for the weekend. Many teammates were expected to be in attendance.
