Robbers Steal Dog, Minivan, Family Jewels

Delaware family a "Little-Bit" devastated over theft of family dog

One Delaware family could be having a not-so-merry Christmas this year after an afternoon home burglary left them without their car, their jewelry, and their beloved family dog.

New Castle County Police responded to a home on Emerald Ridge Drive in Bear, Del., 3:15 p.m. Monday after the home owners’ 18-year-old daughter discovered the family minivan and four-year-old Chihuahua were gone.

The long-haired, tea cup Chihuahua’s name is “Little-Bit.”

Upon further investigation, the family also discovered that more than $37,000 in jewelry was also stolen from the house.

If you have any information on the burglary, or if you have seen the family’s red 1999 Dodge Caravan Sport that has a large dent in the right rear quarter panel, call New Castle County Police at 302.395.8110.
