Police are investigating a violent robbery at a Frankford pizza shop.
It happened at Torresdale Mart and Pizza on Torresdale Avenue around 9 p.m.
Police say two men entered the establishment and demanded money from the store clerk. One suspect then began to beat the clerk, stomping on the victim’s chest at one point. The violent attack was captured on surveillance video.
Police say the second suspect stole an undetermined amount of money, a sack of cigarettes and a sack of lottery tickets as the beating occurred. Both men then fled the scene west on Brill Street, according to investigators.
The owner of the store told NBC10 it was the second time they had been robbed in the last two weeks. The clerk’s injuries were not life threatening though he suffered several cuts and bruises on his face.
