Delaware Gas Station Employee Locks Robber Inside Store

Delaware State Police are looking for a man who was locked in a New Castle gas station after he announced a robbery, and pried open a register to steal cash.

Troopers said in a news release that a man walked into Super Fuel early Tuesday, confronted an employee, and demanded money from the register. Police say the suspect did not show a weapon or say he had one.

Investigators say the employee left the store and locked the suspect inside. The suspect pried open the cash register, took out the money, broke out glass in the door and fled.

Delaware State Police report there is no surveillance photos available to be released, but describe the man as 30-40 years of age, 5'11" - 6'01" tall, with an average build. He was last seen wearing a blue sweatshirt, dark parks, and dark shoes.

If anyone has information on the incident, they are asked to contact Delaware State Police's Robbery Unit.
