A man, who victims say threatened them with HIV-infected needles while robbing the stores they worked in, pleaded guilty Tuesday in a Media courtroom, reports the Delaware County Daily Times.
According to the paper, 36-year-old Kevin Cox will serve eight to 20 years in prison after admitting to robbing Cameo Water Wear in the Glen Eagle Shopping Center in Glen Mills and the California Sun on Wilmington Pike in January 2010.
Authorities say that Cox threatened the female employees -- who worked alone -- with hypodermic needles that he said contained the HIV virus.
“These two needles are HIV positive, open the register or I’ll stick you,” Cox is reported as saying, according to the Delco Times.
The paper says that after his arrest, Cox denied that the needles were infected with the HIV virus.
Cox is already serving time for similar crimes in Delaware.
