Robber Targeting Store Claims He Has a Bomb: Cops

    Police are on the hunt for a robber who they say told an employee he was armed with a bomb.

    Police say it happened Tuesday shortly before midnight at the Giant Food Store in Whitpain Township. A man entered the store and demanded money from the register from an employee, according to investigators. The man then allegedly told the employee he was holding a bomb. Police say he then displayed a device.

    Police say the employee opened the register and the man took an unknown amount of money before fleeing the store on foot. Investigators say they later found a device connected to the incident at the store. The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department Bomb Squad responded to the scene and determined the device was not explosive.
