Accused Forger, Husband Busted After She Tried to Buy Water Ice

A Montgomery County woman buying water ice wound up landing her and her husband in jail.

That’s because police say Angela Mazzoni of Roslyn, Pa. allegedly used a counterfeit $10 bill to buy some water ice at the Rita’s Italian Ice location along Easton Road in Glenside.

Abington Township Police said they began investigating Mazzoni and her husband David Mazzoni after she allegedly used the bogus bill last Thursday.

Police obtained a search warrant that they executed on Friday at the couple’s Johnston Avenue home.

Investigators found 265 counterfeit $10 bills along with $6,000 in real cash inside the Mazzoni home, according to police.

Police arrested both Mazzonis and charged each with criminal conspiracy, possession of an instrument of crime and forgery – Angela faces more counts of forgery than her husband, according to court records.

Both spent the weekend in jail before each posted $10,000 bail Tuesday, according to court records.
