Ridley Township Man Charged With Kidnapping Teenage Girl

A Ridley Township resident allegedly forced a 15-year-old girl into his home on Thursday, October 21.

The girl was walking to her house around 3:30 p.m. on the 100 block of Haverford Road when Daniel Carlton, 52, approached her.

After speaking to her briefly, Carlton allegedly pulled out a steak knife and held it to the teen’s throat.

He then grabbed her sweatshirt and pulled her into his apartment, according to police. The teen told police that she was too scared to resist.

Once the two arrived at Carlton’s home, he allegedly sat the teen down and asked her if she wanted to smoke, drink and have sex with him. The teen said that he let her go after she refused.

The teen then ran home and notified her mother and police.

Carlton was arrested and charged with kidnapping, false imprisonment, aggravated assault and other related charges.

He is being held in a Delaware County prison after failing to post the required 10% of his $300,000 bail.
