Attempted Lurings Reported in Delco

Police believe incidents are unrelated despite happening within blocks of each other

Three attempted lurings within blocks of each other have parents and kids in a Delaware County town on alert, according to Ridley Township Police.

All three cases happened when a man drove up to kids and tried to get them into a vehicle near Ridley Township High School in Folsom, Pa., police said.

Police say one incident happened around 4 p.m. on the 200 block of Gilmore Street when a man tried to get an 11-year-old girl into his silver truck. The second happened around 9 p.m. outside a community center on Morton Avenue when a man ordered a 12-year-old boy into a green jeep.

Police released a sketch of the suspect from the Gilmore Street incident.

Another man is believed to have exposed himself to two 12-year-old girls last week, police said.

In none of the cases was a child ever forced into a vehicle, cops said.

Police say they don’t believe these most recent incidents of men attempting to lure children had anything to do with a string of recent attempting lurings in nearby Upper Darby.

Anyone with information is asked to call Ridley Township Police detectives at 610-532-4002/4003.
