Reward Increased in 2013 Shooting of Delaware State Trooper

The Delaware State Troopers Association is increasing its reward for information leading to the arrest of those responsible for the 2013 shooting of a trooper.

The association announced a $10,000 reward Thursday and increased it to $15,000 Friday. The president of the association says New Jersey troopers came forward to add to the reward.

The State Troopers Fraternal Association of New Jersey and the New Jersey State Troopers Non-Commissioned Officers Association each pledged $2,500 for the reward fund.

Master Cpl. Richard Deskis was shot in the arm and shoulder on Nov. 20, 2013, while interviewing a woman about stolen items in a car in Wilmington. Two Wilmington police officers shielded Deskis and gave first aid until paramedics arrived.

Anyone with information is urged to call Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333.
