A day after reporting that the ex-wife of Allen Iverson claimed he abducted their own children, TMZ is now reporting that the 76ers basketball legend returned his children to their mother last Wednesday.
Tawanna Iverson claimed the former NBA star picked up their five children on May 22 and told her he was taking them on vacation to Charlotte, North Carolina, according to TMZ. While he was supposed to bring their children back to her on May 26, Iverson never showed up, according to court documents filed by Tawanna.
TMZ reports that Tawanna claimed she tried to set up a second return date for her children on June 4 at a neutral location but that A.I. once again never showed up. Tawanna believed Iverson never took their children to Charlotte and instead kept them at a hotel in Georgia, according to TMZ. Tawanna has sole legal custody of the children, who range in ages from 3 to 16 years old.
Iverson commented on the allegations on Tuesday while in Georgia after he was confronted by a photographer who questioned him on the allegations. Iverson was also with his children at the time.
"They say I stole my own kids?" asked Iverson. "That's up to you to believe. I'm not going to comment on it. If that's what you believe and people think I'm crazy enough to do that then so be it."
As he led his kids into his car, Iverson spoke more on the accusations.
"I ain't never treated fairly," he said. "I don't expect to be."

Also on Tuesday, TMZ reported that Iverson appeared in court in Georgia last Wednesday and told the judge his ex-wife had full access to their children while they stayed with him at a hotel in Atlanta. TMZ also reported Tawanna could have picked up their children from Allen but didn't want to drive to his location.
Tawanna, Iverson's wife of eight-plus years, filed for divorce back in 2010. The two underwent a bitter court battle last year in which Tawanna asked for a restraining order and accused him of harassing both her and her family. Earlier this month, Tawanna also claimed Iverson owed $40,000 in child support. Iverson has denied all of his ex-wife's allegations against him.
