Philadelphia Intersections Land in Top 10 for Red-Light Deaths

Philadelphia has some of the deadliest intersections in the country.

The City of Brotherly Love saw 63 deaths at red lights from 2004 to 2013, according to a study released by the National Coalition for Safer Roads Wednesday.

THE NCSR released the data naming Philly as the 8th deadliest city for running red lights as part of its “Stop on Red” week. Houston with 181 fatalities topped the list for red-light running deaths, which totaled nearly 8,000 nationwide over about a decade.

The NCSR study said that the most red-light deaths occurred on Fridays from 1 to 5 p.m.

The study didn't break down Philly's red-light deaths by exact location.
