The American Red Cross is using a new Swim App to promote water safety. Users can track a child's progress in Red Cross swimming lessons.

“The free Red Cross Swim App allows parents to track their child’s progress and use the resources in the app to reinforce what he or she learned in swim lessons,” said Peter M. Brown, Regional CEO. “The drowning prevention and water safety content in the Swim App is also helpful for those who aren’t enrolled in lessons.”

Some of the app's features include quizzes, progress tracking of swimming lessons, water safety information and drowing prevention.

The app is available for use on the iPhone, Android and Kindle Fire and may be downloaded in the Apple App Store, Amazon Kindle Sotre or Google Play Store for Android.

The Red Cross offers a series of apps, including pet first aid and first aid.
