Record Breaker: 2nd Snowiest Winter in Philadelphia

The winter of 2013-2014 is officially the 2nd snowiest in Philadelphia's recorded weather history.

So far this winter, 67.4 inches of snow have fallen at Philadelphia International Airport -- that's where the city's official snow measurement tool is located.

NBC10 First Alert Chief Meteorologist Glenn "Hurricane" Schwartz said the total jumped 4.5 inches from 62.9 inches of snow with Monday's St. Patrick's Day snowstorm.

Records date back to 1884.

This winter displaces the previous record of 65.5 inches of snow set back in 1995-1996.

Philadelphia's all-time snowfall record was set four years ago, in 2009-2010, when 78.7 inches piled up in the city.
