Police say a witness chased down a suspect accused of shooting and killing a man and injuring the homicide victim’s son in Reading, Pa. over the weekend.
Police were called outside the Gargoyle Lounge on N 8th Street early Sunday morning. Police say the victims, a 49-year-old father and his 29-year-old son, were leaving the bar when they were shot. The father died while his son suffered injuries to his torso.
Investigators say an acquaintance witnessed the shooting and chased down the suspect, who was hospitalized with injuries. The alleged shooter faces charges.
District Attorney John T. Adams applauded the 28-year-old witness for his actions and urged others to come forward if they had more information in the shootings.
No names of anyone involved were released.
