Rash of Attempted Break-Ins Has Bucks County Neighborhood on Alert

A series of attempted break-ins in one Bucks County development has police and residents on high alert.

The incidents all took place at the Stover Mill development in Warwick Township, Pennsylvania.

Police say they've received reports from five homeowners about the attempted burglaries. Four of the incidents took place over the past two weeks.

In one case, window screens were found pushed in, officials said. Another time, a resident heard noises and came downstairs to find their door ajar.

Last night, another resident told police she saw people shining flashlights through her windows.

"This is really the first time a bunch of these has happened in a row," said resident Chas Fean. "So people are pretty scared in the neighborhood."

Julie Hanson showed NBC10 reporter George Spencer what appeared to be hand prints on her back window. She says she didn't notice the imprints until Friday morning.

Burglars never actually made it inside a home, but the attempts have police stepping up patrols.

Officials said it remains unclear whether all of the cases are connected. They're asking anyone who sees anything suspicious to call police right away.
