Police have nabbed one suspect, but are still searching for the shooter who they say shot a man and stole a woman's purse during an early morning robbery.

The two victims were walking along the 5700 block of Frankford Avenue in the Mayfair section of Philadelphia around 1 a.m. when a car pulled up next to them and a gunman jumped out, according to officials.

The female victim dropped her green purse and then both she and the male victim ran into nearby Wissinoming Park in an attempt to evade the suspect, but the mugger began shooting, according to reports.

The gunman fired at least three shots, striking the male victim in the right shoulder, according to police.

Authorities say they have captured one suspect, who they say was carrying the purse under his arm while riding a bike a short time later. The female victim positively identified him, according to officials.

    The shooter remains at large.
