Stolen Puppy Returned to Store

A stolen puppy was returned to a Berks County pet store this morning.

"The puppy is back safe and sound," exclaimed pet store owner Samuel Zimmers.

Surveillance cameras captured three women in Zimmers Pets store located at 51 E. Philadelphia Ave., in Boyertown, Pa. moments before they took off with a female Jug Mix pup, which is a cross between a Pug and a Jack Russell, Sunday afternoon.

The dog's face appears to have a black mask, according to Zimmers' staff. By mid-morning he was back playing with other puppy's in his litter.

The surveillance footage shows two young children were with the women as they meandered around the store.

On Tuesday morning, the store reported someone returned the stolen pup unharmed.

Zimmers said that help from the public and customers helped to identify the women who took the pup.

The Boyertown Police Department has yet to charge anyone in the case.
