Prosecutors: Man Sold Heroin That Caused Fatal Overdose

Prosecutors say a southern New Jersey man sold heroin to another man who later died from an overdose.

Kevin Croxton, a 26-year-old Lindenwold resident, was charged with strict liability for a drug-induced death and numerous drug offenses. The counts stem from the April 2014 death of a 29-year-old Laurel Springs man.

Prosecutors say investigators used cell phone records and other evidence to identify Croxton as a suspect in the death. They say he sold the other man heroin just a few hours before the man died.

Croxton faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted on the strict liability for a drug-induced death charge.

He's currently being held in the Camden County Jail on unrelated charges. It wasn't known Sunday if he's retained an attorney for the new counts.
