In an NBC10 exclusive, Mitch Blacher and the investigators are looking for answers after an inmate was allegedly assaulted by as many as six officers at the Montgomery County Corrections Center. (Published Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2017)

Prosecutors say six former correctional officers have been charged in connection with the assault of two inmates.

The ex-guards face charges including aggravated and simple assault, conspiracy and other offenses over the February assaults at the Montgomery County Correctional Facility in Eagleville.

District Attorney Kevin Steele says one of the inmates was beaten by six guards in his cell, taken to the prison's medical facility for treatment, and then beaten again.

Video surveillance shows the inmate never fought back.

He says another inmate was repeatedly punched in the face.

All six were arrested and arraigned Friday morning.

They were identified as Edwin Negron, formerly a captain; Darin Collins formerly a lieutenant;, former correctional officers Alfred Gregory, Jr., Anthony Saxby, Randall Sims and Jason Marshall. All were fired after the alleged assaults.
