Prisoner Sentenced 1 to 5 Years for Fellow Inmate's Death

Mark Farabaugh, 43, pleaded guilty in December to involuntary manslaughter in the March 2012 death of 52-year-old Keith Williams at the Laurel Highlands prison.

A prison inmate has been sentenced to one to five years in the beating death of a fellow inmate at a prison in southwestern Pennsylvania a year ago.

Mark Farabaugh, 43, pleaded guilty in December to involuntary manslaughter in the March 2012 death of 52-year-old Keith Williams at the Laurel Highlands prison.

Authorities said other inmates said they saw Farabaugh punching Williams during an argument over food. The victim, who received a skull fracture, died two days later at a Johnstown hospital.

The (Somerset) Daily American reports that Farabaugh apologized at Friday's hearing in Somerset County, saying ``I really am in bad shape about this.''

He was serving time on a sentence of fleeing from police and driving under the influence. Williams was serving a sentence in a rape case.
