30 to 60 Years in Prison for Deadly Halloween Shooting

A man convicted in a Halloween shooting death in a central Pennsylvania nightclub has been sentenced to 30 to 60 years in prison.

The (Altoona) Mirror reports that 21-year-old Hugo Baez wept in Blair County Court Friday as he listened to the sobbing mother of the victim speak about her loss.

Baez was convicted of third-degree murder in the October 2013 slaying of 24-year-old Willie Solomon at Choices Nightclub in Altoona after an argument with the victim's brother.

He read aloud an apology and said he wished he could take back that night.

Judge Elizabeth Doyle said she imposed the sentence because of the ``violent nature and senselessness of the crime'' but told Baez that "It's still possible for some good to come out of your life."
