Last 2 Sentenced in Pa. Woman's Torture Death

The last two defendants in the torture killing of a mentally challenged Pennsylvania woman have been sentenced to prison.

The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports 39-year-old Robert Masters received 30 to 70 years in prison, while his girlfriend, 30-year-old Peggy Miller, was sentenced to 35 to 74 years by a Westmoreland County judge on Monday.

Both had pleaded guilty to third-degree murder and other charges in the February 2010 death of 30-year-old Jennifer Daughter. She was tortured over two days before she was fatally stabbed in a Greensburg apartment about 30 miles east of Pittsburgh.

Masters and Miller were accused of not helping Daugherty while the others abused and killed her.

The two men who actually killed Daugherty are on death row for first-degree murder, while another woman involved is serving a life sentence.
