Officials at Princeton University are trying to find out who is responsible for leaking an unpublished manuscript by J.D. Salinger from the university's library.
University Spokesman Martin Mbugua tells The Times of Trenton that the short story "The Ocean Full of Bowling Balls," was one of three unpublished manuscripts sold on eBay and uploaded to a file-sharing site on Nov. 27.
The curator of Princeton's special collections says the sale was not authorized by the Salinger Literary Estate or the university library.
School officials say the process of viewing the library's prized documents involves heavy security.
"The Ocean Full of Bowling Balls" has plot ties to Salinger's most famous work, "The Catcher in the Rye."
University officials have not said what action they plan to take.
