Police ID Driver in Crash Involving Pregnant Victim

Police say the SUV fled the scene

Police in Chester County have identified the driver in an accident that sent a pregnant woman to the hospital on Tuesday

It happened in the northbound lanes of Route 202 in East Goshen Township.

The victim's SUV rolled over after hitting a guide rail and she had to be rescued from her car. She was wearing her seat belt.

The victim was taken to Paoli Hospital for observation. Police told NBC10 the woman is 7-months pregnant. She was not seriously hurt and was later released.

Witnesses told police that another SUV, a white Honda Pilot, moved into the victim's lane of traffic and she swerved to avoid a collision. The Pilot initially stopped on the shoulder of the road, but then drove away, according to a police statement.

On Wednesday, the driver of the Honda Pilot contacted the Westtown-East Goshen Regional Police Department. Investigators say she is cooperating. She's a 42-year old woman from West Chester.

No charges have been filed.
