Pregnant Woman, Man Recovering After Double Shooting in Philadelphia

Police said a 23-year-old pregnant woman and a 21-year-old man were hospitalized after a shooting in Philadelphia's Frankford section.

Chief Inspector Scott Small said the shooting occurred shortly before 10 p.m. Thursday in front of a home on Paul Street.

Police said 11 shots were fired in the direction of the victims from the intersection of Paul and Womrath streets. They say two male suspects fled in a white Cadillac.

The woman, who is eight months pregnant, was struck in the upper left thigh. The man was shot in the back.

Small says both were taken to Temple University Hospital. The woman was listed in stable condition. The man was in critical condition.

They were both expected to survive.
