A pregnant Amish woman and her unborn child were killed by lightning about 75 miles southeast of Pittsburgh.
State police say 36-year-old Mary H. Yoder was picking berries in the woods near her home with her husband and two children at about 11 a.m. Tuesday morning.
A storm moved in and Yoder took shelter under one tree, while her husband and the children went under a different tree. Police say lightning struck a few minutes later, killing Yoder, who was 9 months pregnant.
Police continue to investigate.
