Power Outage During “The Interview” Stuns Audience

A power outage during the controversial movie "The Interview" on Thursday stunned and confused an audience in New Jersey.

The outage happened Thursday at Allwood Cinemas 6 in Clifton just before a scene in which North Korean leader Kim Jong Un is killed. It lasted about 15 minutes.

Northjersey.com reports there was confusion when the theater went dark and some audience members left quickly. When the power came back on, theater staff announced that people could return for a later showing.

A spokeswoman for Public Service Electric and Gas Co. says a downed power line caused the outage.

Independent movie theaters are showing the comedy about two journalists recruited by the CIA to assassinate the North Korean leader. Sony Pictures initially canceled following threats by hackers.
