Power Back for Thousands in AC After Storm

The utility said service had been restored to about 15,100 customers by late Saturday afternoon

Service has mostly been restored to thousands of electric customers who lost power when severe thunderstorms moved through Atlantic City.

Atlantic City Electric officials say roughly 16,000 customers lost power at the height of Friday's storms, which knocked down trees and power lines throughout the region and dropped several inches of rain in some spots.

The utility said service had been restored to about 15,100 customers by late Saturday afternoon. And nearly all customers were expected to have their power back by sometime Saturday night.

But officials say there may be some localized outages that may not be restored until early Sunday afternoon.
