Port Richmond Man Dies of CO Poisoning

Man's girlfriend hospitalized

Carbon monoxide poisoning killed one man and sent another person to the hospital Saturday morning.

The body of 56-year-old Gerald Creighton was found in his Port Richmond home. His girlfriend was found unconscious but alive.

Creighton's twin brother made the discovery when he went to find the couple after they didn't show up for Thanksgiving dinner.

Neighbors here were evacuated while fire officials checked carbon monoxide levels in all of the homes.

According to the law, all homes in Philadelphia will be required to have a carbon monoxide detector by Jan. 1.
