Search Continues for Killer Who Shot Young Mom in Port Richmond Home

As neighbors and relatives struggled to make sense of the tragic death of a young mother slain execution-style in her Philadelphia home, police continued to search for the woman's killer early Saturday morning.

A sidewalk memorial of teddy bears, candles balloons and flowers is growing in front of 22-year-old victim Stephanie Dzikowski's house on Aramingo Avenue near Clearfield Street, in the city's Port Richmond section, where police say someone shot and killed her in cold blood Thursday night.

Someone went into Dzikowski's house late Thursday and shot the young woman execution-style with her 2-year-old daughter nearby, investigators said.

The toddler was not injured. Investigators said Dzikowski's fiancé found her body in a bedroom about 11:30 p.m. Thursday.

Neighbors told NBC10 they heard one gunshot from inside the home. One neighbor tried to chase the suspect, but he was able to get away.

Police are hoping that surveillance video showing a man running on Aramingo Avenue away from the scene will help them to identify and track down Dzikowski's killer.

Dzikowski lived at the home with her daughter, her fiancé and her father.

A motive in the deadly shooting remains under investigation.
