A South Jersey Police sergeant and his son were honored after they were caught on camera thwarting a robbery.
Runnemede Police Sergeant Dan Murray and his son Bryan received a plaque as well as a letter of commendation during a ceremony Tuesday night in Runnemede, New Jersey.
Last December, Murray and his son helped stop a robber who was targeting a CVS Pharmacy in Runnemede. The suspect held a CVS employee at knife-point and tried to steal thousands of dollars’ worth of prescription drugs.
As the suspect fled the store, Sergeant Murray, who was off-duty at the time, grabbed the man and with the help of his son detained him until police officers arrived.
The incident was captured on surveillance video.
