Armed Robbers Storm Convenience Store: Police

Police are searching for two suspects who stormed a convenience store and brandished handguns during a robbery last Friday.

Officials say two unknown males entered the Food Land Market at 5502 Rising Sun Ave. in Philadelphia's Olney neighborhood around noon on June 20 and demanded money and cigarettes while pointing guns at a store employee.
 
The first suspect placed a handgun through an opening in a Plexiglass window, while the second suspect was able to get behind the counter by jumping onto a freezer and climbing over the glass divider.
The two suspects took $400 and 10 packs of Newport cigarettes before they fled the scene on foot. They were last seen heading north on Rising Sun Avenue.
 
Police desribe the first suspect as a black male with a dark complexion, standing 6-feet tall with a medium build. He is in his mid to late 20’s and was last seen wearing a Nike logo dark colored baseball cap, dark colored hooded sweatshirt, and dark colored pants, according to officials.
Authorities say the second suspect is a black male with a dark complexion, standing 6-feet tall with a medium build. He is in his mid to late 20’s and was last seen wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt, dark colored pants with white vertical stripes on both legs, and black and white low converse “Chuck Taylor” style sneakers, according to reports.
 
Police warn if you see the suspects, do not approach them. Contact 911 immediately.
