Police have issued a "gold alert" for a 16-year-old boy who went missing Saturday afternoon.

Authorities are searching for Kyle Lutz, who left a youth rehabilitation facility on the 800 block of Bellevue Road in Wilmington around 5 p.m.

Officials describe the teen, who has brown eyes and brown hair, as standing 5-foot 7-inches tall, weighting approximately 170 pounds.

Police say his medical status is such that there is a real concern for his welfare.

Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is asked to contact the New Castle County Police Dept. at 302-573-2800.
