Police Search for Gunman in Triple Shooting

Kids were shot while playing outside of a home

Philadelphia police are still searching for the man responsible for shooting two children and a 19-year-old man in Southwest Philadelphia.

Police sources say an 8-year-old boy and his 2-year-old brother were playing in 2100 block of South 67th Street around 3:30 p.m Saturday  when a gunman fired a .45-caliber handgun outside the outside the City Paging and Communications store.

The 2-year-old was shot in the leg and the 8-year-old was shot in the buttocks. Both boys were in stable condition at Children's Hospital Sunday, according to investigators.

"The kids weren't doing anything wrong, they were playing in the front of the door with their mother. They were attended to. They were doing what kids normally do, play," Candis Ferris said.

Police say Marquise Westley, the intended target of the shooting, is critical condition at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Investigators say the gunman, wearing a dark colored sweatshirt, followed Westley out of the  at the corner of 67th Street and fired several shots at him before fleeing.

Police say they recovered six shell casings at the scene.
