Police Search for 2 Missing Sex Offenders

Delaware State Police are searching for two Wilmington sex offenders who they say failed to register their current addresses with them.

32-year-old William Wright, Sr. is required by law to confirm his homeless status with investigators every seven days or provide them with a change in his homeless status.

He failed to do so however. Police also say that Wright is a high risk Tier 3 sex offender.

40-year-old David Layell is a moderate risk Tier 2 sex offender, according to investigators. Police say that he no longer lives at his former residence in Wilmington and that he no longer works at the job that he previously registered with them. Investigators say that he is required to report any change of his residential or employment status.

Wright is a black male, standing at 5-foot-9 and weighing 230 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes. He is charged with failure to verify address.

Layell is a white male, standing at 5-foot-10 and weighing 195 pounds. He has brown hair and hazel eyes. He is charged with two counts of failure to register a new address.

Investigators are asking anyone who may know the location of William R. Wright, Sr. or David M. Layell to call the Sex Offenders Apprehension and Registration Unit at 302-741-8086.
