State police say one man fired a handgun and another swung a crowbar as they robbed a pharmacy in Claymont. The robbery occurred Thursday evening at Darley Pharmacy on Darley Road.

Police say the two men were wearing masks.

Police say one man demanded money from an employee while swinging a crowbar at him. Police say the other man jumped over the pharmacy counter and threatened three employees with the handgun while asking for cash. According to police, the man fired a shot into a shelf holding prescription drugs when the employees didn't immediately comply.

The men fled after employees told them a silent alarm had been activated.
