Police Nab Mom Accused of Abandoning Baby

Chrissie Williams was taken into custody late Tuesday night by Philadelphia Police.

Philadelphia Police have taken the mom accused of abandoning her baby in a Norristown parking lot into custody.

Police say they took Chrissie Williams into custody late Tuesday night.

Williams' 8-month-old son was found alone in a stroller in the parking lot of the Central Montgomery County Mental Health and Mental Retardation Center on East Spruce Street just before 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, according to investigators.

They also say a duffel bag with baby items inside was discovered nearby.

It was that bag that helped identify the mother.

The boy was taken into protective custody, according to Norristown Police and was declared to be in good health, officials said.

Chrissie Williams has not been charged with a crime.
