Police Nab Man Accused of Stealing Wawa Charity Donations

New Jersey Police have arrested a man who they say stole donation money for a children’s charity while inside a Wawa store in Cherry Hill.

Cherry Hill Police Department investigators say they responded to the report of a theft at the Wawa at 843 Cooper Landing Road on May 22.

According to police, a male entered the store and stole a charity donation jar from the front counter at 3:15 a.m. The more than $200 of donations in the jar were intended to benefit the Children’s Miracle Network.

Police were able to capture an image of the suspect and his getaway car after reviewing the store's surveillance video footage. The suspect has been identified as Albert Harden of Camden, N.J.

Police arrested Harden on Thursday. He now faces fourth degree theft charges.

Police in Philadelphia are still on the hunt for a man who stole a children's charity donation jar from a Wawa on Byberry Road last week.

Authorities in New Jersey say the two incidents are not related.
