Police released new surveillance video of a man who may be responsible for a violent murder as well as two other attacks on women in the Kensington section of the city.
The video shows the unidentified man walking in and out of a convenience store on the 3900 block of Torresdale Avenue on July 12. Police say the man later approached a 24-year-old woman from behind while riding a blue and black mountain bike around 12:30 a.m. He grabbed the woman and choked her until she became unconscious, according to investigators.
When the woman woke up she was naked in the back of a property located on 3800 Jasper Street. She suffered head and facial injuries and was taken to Temple University Hospital where she was listed in stable condition.
The suspect is described as a man, possibly in his 30s, with a full mustache and beard. In the store surveillance video he is wearing a blue or gray colored jacket, two-tone backpack with a lighter color on top and a darker color on the bottom, dark-colored shorts, dark-colored socks, dark-colored high top sneakers with white soles and a baseball cap with a V shaped logo and a sticker on the top of the bill.
He was also riding a blue and black mountain bike with what appeared to be a headlight or reflector on the front, police said.
Investigators say the man may also be connected to the violent killing of a woman who was found naked and stabbed to death on a street corner late Saturday. The 35-year-old woman was found beaten and stabbed to death in a rear alley behind Cumberland Street near Jasper Street. Police say she had been beaten with a brick and stabbed in the neck.

Police also say the suspect may have been responsible for another non-fatal attack on a woman in Kensington earlier this month.
