Police: Man Molested Sisters For Months

A man used money and his close relationship to three young sisters to carry out months of sexual abuse, police say

A Bucks County man used his close relationship with a Bethlehem, Pa. family to molest three young sisters, police say.

Robert D'Ginto, 46, of West Rockhill Township, Pa., was arrested last Friday after a sting operation caught him positioning one of the underage girls for sex, Bethlehem Police said.

But that wasn't the first time the predator struck. Police quickly uncovered a seven month long history of abuse.

"Being close to the family, he would be able to invade their trust," Inv. Moses Miller with the Bethlehem Police said.

The three sisters -- ages 12, 14 and 17 -- told police the man started offering them money and goods for sex back in July 2009.

More recently, D'Ginto bought the girls a cell phone, but told them he would shut off the service unless they sent him sexually explicit photos via text message, police said.

And just last week, the man took the 12 and 14-year-old sisters into a family bathroom at the Lehigh Valley Mall to engage in sexual acts.

"D'Ginto followed them in, locked the door and at that time he attempted to engage in sex with both the juveniles," Inv. Miller said.

The girls were able to get away, but not before the older sister was groped, police said.

That's when the girls told their mother about the abuse. She then went to police who set up the sting.

Police say none of the girls ever had sex with D'Ginto, who was convicted of sexual abuse in the 1980s.

Investigators believe D'Ginto may have molested at least one other victim.

As the investigation continues, D'Ginto remains behind bars on $150,000 bail.
