A homicide investigation is underway after a teenage boy was shot Thursday afternoon underneath a train overpass in North Philadelphia.
On Friday, police confirm the identity of the victim as 15-year-old Tre Dawkins, of Willow Grove.
Police say the shooting happened on the 1400-block of West Glenwood Avenue near the regional rail station. Investigators say the teen was shot once in the chest.
He was pronounced dead at 12:23 p.m. at Temple University Hospital.
No arrests have been made.
