Police Investigate Several Stabbings in Kingsessing

Police are investigating whether several stabbings in the Kingsessing section of the city are related.

Police are investigating whether several stabbings in the Kingsessing section of the city are related.

The first stabbing happened on a Route 52 SEPTA bus around 12:30 a.m. on 54th and Springfield.

Police say two men were arguing on the bus. When the bus pulled up to a stop, one man stabbed the other man in the face and then fled in an unknown direction, according to investigators. The 24-year-old victim was taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where he is currently in stable condition.

Police also say two men were stabbed a few hours later only a few blocks away on 54th and Woodland Avenue. A 24-year-old man was stabbed once in the back and once in the right shoulder. A 48-year-old man was stabbed once in the neck, twice in the chest and twice in the back, according to investigators. Both men were taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where they are in critical condition.

Police are currently investigating whether all the stabbings are related. No arrests have been made.
