Authorities say a motorcycle crash on an eastern Pennsylvania interstate that injured a state senator is being investigated as a possible case of driving under the influence.
State police in Lehigh County say 51-year-old Sen. Patrick Browne was on a Harley-Davidson motorcycle that was heading west on I-78 when it went out of control on an Allentown off-ramp just after 4:30 p.m. Saturday.
Police said Browne was taken by ambulance to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest, where a spokesman said he couldn't confirm that Browne had been treated, citing privacy considerations.
Browne's license was suspended after drunken-driving crashes in 1995 and 1999. In 2010, he called issues related to addiction and recovery "something I live with every day.''
Browne, Republican chairman of the appropriations committee, didn't return a message left Sunday.
