Police: Fake FBI Agents Rob Jewelry Store

Two men who claimed to be FBI agents robbed a northern New Jersey jewelry store at gunpoint and left three people tied up in a back room as they looted the store.

Ramsey police tell The Record that the bandits made off with an unknown quantity of merchandise.

The robbery occurred around 11:20 a.m. Monday, when the two men entered the store and claimed they were involved in an investigation about a reported meth lab. They soon tied up the store's owner, his brother and their mother and then looted the store's safe and several display cases.

After he heard the bandits leave the store, the owner broke the ties that bound his hands and went to a neighboring business and asked its owner to call police.
